An update on one of our own International projects
Sep. 16, 2026
Our very own Mandy Hicks gave an inspiring update on her recent trip to Honduras to monitor international Rotary projects.
Through incredible collaboration with local partners, Help Honduras, and neighboring Rotary clubs—including those in the Wine Country Cluster—these initiatives are creating lasting, life-changing progress across the country:
* AyO Market Children School Program & Wrap-Around Services (Tegucigalpa)
* The RACHEL Offline Digital Learning Systems
* Chispa Project Libraries
* Specialized Care & Health
* Trade & Early Learning
A massive thank you to Mandy for her ongoing dedication, passion, and leadership in keeping our club connected to these essential global efforts!

Four members, zero damp socks, and one hundred percent successful ducking around. As the lead sponsor for the Make a Splash Duck Races at the YMCA of Southern Interior BC (YMCA) H2O center, we sent a crew to keep an eye on the ducks. Miraculously, no one fell in, nobody got soaked, and despite high tension, no one went completely quackers.
Meanwhile, another fab four were holding down the fort at the Camp OAC fundraising campaign launch. We manned the construction committee table, enthusiastically explaining rebuild progress, timelines, and proving that Rotarians can look at blueprints without nodding off.
A Tale of Two Co-Presidents: While Trish McLeod was pulling double duty and somehow managing to be in two places at once in Kelowna, our other Co-President, Anne Brunton, sneaked off to Osoyoos for the District 5060 Success Summit. We haven't heard back yet, but for the sake of the club... let's hope she was successful!
Safe to say, it was a wildly busy Saturday for the Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo. Time for a well-deserved nap!
